Let me preface by saying I have owned 12 diesels, (4) Powerstrokes, (2) Duramaxes, (5) Cummins and a Ecodiesel. I am not new to them. I struggle to get more then 15-15.5 mpg in this truck and its driving me nuts. Dash MPG's aren't even remotely close except for the 400+ mile range which is about 1 mpg high. I simply went from stock tire size (265/70R18 = 32.6 inches) to a ~ 35 inch tire size (285/75R18 = 34.8 inches). Fuel Mileage (average) Stock Tire Size - 15 mpg city & 18 mpg highway. 35 Inch Tires - 11 mpg city & 14 mpg highway. 35 Inch Tires & 4:30 Axle Ratio - 13 mpg city & 16 mpg highway.
